Silk Association of Nepal (SAN) is a non-governmental, non-political and not profit making organization as well as an apex body of exporters, weavers, reelers, green cocoon producers (farmers), farmers’ groups and professionals of Seri cultural fields, came into existence in 1992 with the embracing main aim is to plan, organize and promote sericulture & silk development activities. It supports developing sericulture enterprises as commercially viable for providing sustainable livelihood and equitable opportunities to the rural people and contributes to the national economy development.

SAN has three branch offices in Dhading, Chitwan and Ilam districts of Nepal and planning to establish two more branch offices in Palpa, Shyangja and Karve districts in future to channel its services and products effectively. The national office of SAN is located in capital city 'Kathmandu' of Nepal.

225 numbers of entrepreneurs, farmers' group and individual sericulture farmers are obtained the membership of SAN in total, including 195 members of branches offices.

SAN includes as a membership in International Silk Association (ISA), Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FNCCI), Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC) and Social Welfare Council (SWC).
